Chester Taylor’s Time In Chicago Coming To An End?

Rumors surfaced back in Februray that RB  Chester Taylor could be on the chopping block but that was shot down by the Bears front office. Since then they have brought in Marion Barber to round out the teams backfield but as  John Mullin of CSN Chicago writes, that could spell the end of Taylor’s time in Chicago.

“Marion Barber (7-45, 6.4 yards per carry) was exactly what the Bears thought he was,” Mullin writes. “With flashes from Kahlil Bell (13-73, 5.6 per carry) and Harvey Unga, (9-27, 3.0 per carry) both of whom can contribute to special teams, Chester Taylor’s future does not appear to be in Chicago.

Barber looked great in his first game with the Bears while Taylor continued to struggle totaling only three yards on three carries. Matt Forte was such a vocal point of Mike Martz‘s offense that it seems like they could move forward without Taylor and not miss a beat.

If Chicago releases Taylor, he’ll most likely find work as a third-down back for another team.
