Chiefs Announce The Release Of CB Dunta Robinson

The Kansas City Chiefs announced the release of CB Dunta Robinson on Friday, per Terez Paylor.

There was some speculation in recent months that this move could be coming, so it’s really not surprising to see the Chiefs part ways with him after an underwhelming first year in Kansas City.

Robinson, 31, signed a three-year deal worth $13.75 million with the Chiefs last year and had a base salary of $5.1 million coming his way in 2014. The Chiefs should save close to $3.1 million in cap space with this move. Robinson will have made $4.375 million for one season in Kansas City.

Robinson wound up playing just 274 snaps for the Chiefs this season over the course of nine games. During that time, he produced 13 tackles and a fumble recovery and was rated by Pro Football Focus as a below average cornerback.
