Chiefs Fear Rookie S Juan Thornhill Could Miss Playoffs With Knee Injury

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Chiefs fear rookie S Juan Thornhill suffered a significant knee injury that will knock him out for the playoffs.

According to Rapoport, the plan as of now is for Thornhill to undergo an MRI tomorrow to determine the severity of the issue.

Thornhill has been a standout player for the Chiefs’ defense this season, so this would be a big blow to their secondary.

Thornhill, 24, was taken with the No. 63 overall pick in the second round by the Chiefs out of Virginia. He signed four-year, $4,615,266 rookie contract that included a $1,376,556 signing bonus.

In 2019, Thornhill appeared in all 16 games for the Chiefs and recorded 58 tackles, three interceptions, one defensive touchdown and five passes defended.

We’ll have more regarding Thornhill as the news is available.
