Chiefs HC Andy Reid announced that G Laurent Duvernay-Tardif suffered a fractured fibula during the team’s 30-14 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.
“It’s going to take a little bit of time, but not too long,” Reid said, via ArrowheadPride.com. “He won’t be done for the year, which is positive.”
Duvernay-Tardif figures to be a candidate to be placed on injured reserve.
Duvernay-Tardif, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2014. He was entering the final year of his rookie contract when he agreed to a six-year, $41.94 million extension that includes $14 million guaranteed.
Duvernay-Tardif stands to make base salaries of $3.31 million and $6.203 million over the next two years of the agreement.
Entering today’s game, Duvernay-Tardif had appeared in four games for the Chiefs.
