Chiefs Get Down To 53 Players

The Kansas City Chiefs have officially announced their roster moves as they cut their roster down to 53 players on Saturday.

Here’s the list of players that have either been released or placed on waivers:

• DT Hebron Fangupo
• C Garrett Frye
• DL David Irving
• LB James-Michael Johnson
• C Eric Kush
• WR Tello Luckett
• C Daniel Munyer
• DB Deji Olatoye
• G Jarrod Pughsly
• RB Darrin Reaves
• DB Kevin Short
• OT Derek Sherrod
• TE Ryan Taylor
• FB Spencer Ware
• WR Fred Williams

The Chiefs also placed TE Richard Gordon on the injured reserve list and CB Sean Smith on the reserve/suspended list.

Commings, 25, was a fifth-round pick by the Chiefs back in 2013. Though he was believed to be a possible starter last offseason, Commings faced a large amount of injury complications since his rookie season. In fact, he landed on the injured reserve in 2014 and has only appeared in two games throughout his career.

In 2013, Commings appeared in two games for only one total tackle.
