Update:
Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reports that the Chiefs and Steelers are emerging as his most likely destinations for Giants CB Janoris Jenkins.
According to Vacchiano, both teams had interest in Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson before it was made clear that he’ll remain in Arizona. Now the Chiefs and Steelers have turned their attention to second-tier options like Jenkins.
Other teams who have reportedly expressed interest in Jenkins, according to Vacchiano, include the Saints and Eagles. Although, that was before the Saints acquired Eli Apple.
Vacchiano says that the Patriots are a dark horse to watch for Jenkins.
According to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, the Chiefs are a team to watch in regards to Giants CBย Janoris Jenkins.
Schwartz says that the Chiefs have “some interest” in Jenkins and he could help put a contender like Kansas City over the top.
Reports have said that the Chiefs are in the trade market for a cornerback and Jenkins is one of the top candidates to be moved before today’s deadline.
Jenkins, 29 is a former second-round pick of the Rams back in 2012. He spent four years with the Rams before signing a five-year, $62.5 million contract that included $28.8 million guaranteed with the Giants.
Jenkins stands to make base salaries of $10.9 million and $10.15 million over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Jenkins has appeared in seven games for the Giants and recorded 33 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble and six pass defenses.
