Chiefs Hosting CB Orlando Scandrick For Visit

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that veteran CB Orlando Scandrick is already drawing “significant interest” from NFL teams and has scheduled a visit with the Chiefs.

Scandrick will travel to Kansas City tonight for a meeting with the Chiefs, according to Rapoport.

The Chiefs have been monitoring the free agent market for cornerback help, so it’s not surprising to see them move quickly to set something up with Scandrick.

Scandrick, 31, is a former fifth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2008. He was in the fourth year of his five-year, $20 million contract and set to make base salaries of $3 million and $4 million over the final two years of the agreement when the Cowboys designated him as a post-June 1 release.

The Redskins signed Scandrick to a two-year contract that included $1 million guaranteed this offseason only to release him on Tuesday.

In 2017, Scandrick recorded 38 tackles, no interceptions and three pass defenses for the Cowboys over the course of 11 games before he was placed on injured reserve. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 113 overall cornerback out of 121 qualifiers.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
