Chiefs Scheduled To Host CB Darqueze Dennard For Visit

Josina Anderson reports that the Chiefs are scheduled to host free agent CB Darqueze Dennard for a visit this weekend.

The Chiefs are clearly in the market for cornerback help this offseason and previously showed interest in Ronald Darby and Jason Verrett before they signed with the Eagles and 49ers respectively.

This is the first reported interest in him since the free agent market officially opened.

Dennard, 27, was taken with the No. 24 overall pick by the Bengals back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $7.978 million contract before the Bengals picked up his fifth-year option for the 2018 season.

Dennard made $8,526,000 million last year and is now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2018, Dennard appeared in 13 games for the Bengals and recorded 68 tackles, no interceptions, two forced fumbles, a recovery and six pass defenses.

We have him featured in our Top 100 Available Free Agents list.
