Chiefs Sign C Austin Reiter To Two-Year, $5.5M Extension

The Kansas City Chiefs announced that they have signed C Austin Reiter to a contract extension.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Reiter gets a two-year, $5.5 million extension with a $1 million signing bonus.

Reiter, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Redskins back in 2015. He spent just over a year in Washington before he was waived at the start of the 2016 season and later signed to the Browns’ active roster.

Reiter returned to the Browns on an exclusive rights contract but was cut loose soon after. The Chiefs quickly claimed him back in September and he has earned a starting role, so they are clearly impressed enough to extend him.

In 2018, Reiter has appeared in seven games for the Chiefs and is rated by ProFootballFocus as the No. 10 overall center out of 38 qualifiers.
