Chiefs Sign DB Leon McQuay To PS, Release TE David Wells


The Kansas City Chiefs officially signed DB Leon McQuay to their practice squad and released TE David Wells from the unit on Monday.

The Chiefs’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. WR Josh Crockett
  2. WR Gehrig Dieter
  3. OT Ryan Hunter
  4. QB Chase Litton
  5. LB Rob McCray
  6. DB D’Montre Wade
  7. C Jimmy Murray
  8. DT Joey Ivie
  9. TE Deon Yelder
  10. DB Leon McQuay

McQuay, 23, is a former sixth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason last year and later added to the team’s practice squad.

Since then, McQuay has been on and off Kansas City’s taxi squad.

In 2017, McQuay appeared in one game for the Chiefs and recorded four tackles and a pass defense.
