Chiefs Trade G Rishaw Johnson To Buccaneers For S Kelcie McCray

Buccaneers HC Lovie Smith announced Thursday that they have traded S Kelcie McCray to the Chiefs in return for G Rishaw Johnson, per the Pewter Report.

Johnson, 25, signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of  California University of Pennsylvania back in 2012. He later signed to the Chiefs practice squad in September of last year and wound up appearing in three games for Kansas City.

Johnson was reportedly competing with rookie Zach Fulton for the Chiefs right guard position.

There is no question the Buccaneers could use some extra depth at guard, which appears to be one of their biggest issues on their current roster.

McCray, 25, signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas State back in 2012. He was later claimed off of waivers by the Buccaneers.

Last year, McCray appeared in 15 games and recorded 12 tackles, a pass defense and recovered a fumble.
