Chiefs Trying Out K Garrett Hartley & CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste

The Kansas City Chiefs have 47 players trying out during their rookie minicamp on Saturday including free agent CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste and K Garrett Hartley.

Hartley, 30, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent back in 2008. However, he lasted just a few months before he was placed on waivers.

Hartley later caught on with the Saints and spent five years in New Orleans with the Saints, but was, unfortunately, released in December of 2013. After a brief stint with the Browns, Hartley signed with the Steelers during the preseason in 2015, but was cut loose a few months into the season.

In 2014, Hartley appeared in two games and converted all three of his field goal attempts and his two extra point tries.

Jean-Baptiste, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Saints back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in New Orleans before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season and later signed to the lions’ practice squad.

The Seahawks signed him towards the end of the 2015 season and brought him back on a future/reserve contract. However, Seattle declined to tender him a contract as a restricted free agent this past March.

In 2014, Jean-Baptiste appeared in four games for the Saints, but didn’t record a single statistic. This season, has yet to be active for a single game.
