Phillip Wilson of the Indianapolis Star reports that Colts DE Dwight Freeney, whoย suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 1, could be available for Sunday’s game against the Packers, but figures to be limited to the role of a situationalย pass rusher.
“With those type of injuries, they kind of linger, having the high ankle,โ Freeney saidย โI hope to play but that doesnโt mean itโs going to happen, itโs really a day-to-day deal.”
High-ankle sprains usually take four to six weeks to heal, so this is at least a good sign for status in the weeks to come. Indianapolis has been hit hard with injuries in recent, so even having Freeney on a limited basis could helpย against a very questionable Packers offensive line, who has allowed 36 sacks this season.
