Colts Downgrade QB Jacoby Brissett To Out For Week 10

The Indianapolis Colts announced Saturday that they’ve downgraded QB Jacoby Brissett to out for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. The Colts have also downgraded CB Pierre Desir to doubtful.

Brissett is dealing with an MCL sprain and wasn’t going to be 100 percent healthy if he suited up this weekend, so it appears as though the Colts felt it was best to buy him some time and go with Brian Hoyer as their starter.

Brissett, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Patriots back in 2016. The Patriots traded Brisset to the Colts coming out of the preseason in 2017 in return for WR Phillip Dorsett.

Brissett was in the final year of his four-year, $3.411 million contract when he agreed to a two-year deal worth $30 million that included $20 million guaranteed at signing with the Colts back in September.

In 2019, Brissett has appeared in eight games and completed 64.8 percent of his passes for 1,649 yards, 14 touchdowns and three interceptions. He has also rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown.
