The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that they’ve promoted OLB Trevor Bates to their active.
Bates, 23, was taken in the seventh round of this year’s NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $2.412 million contract with the Colts and was set to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season but he was unfortunately cut loose coming out of the preseason.
The Colts later signed him to their practice squad.
Duringย his college career, Bates appeared in 46 games and recorded 207 tackles, 19 sacks, 10 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, three interceptions and two defensive touchdowns.
