Colts Release CB Chris Culliver From Injured Reserve

The Indianapolis Colts officially released veteran CB Chris Culliver from injured reserve on Monday.

Culliver, 29, is a former third-round pick of the 49ers back in 2011. He spent four years in San Francisco before signing a four-year, $32 million contract that included $16 million guaranteed with the Redskins back in March of 2015.

Culliver was released last May by Washington and later signed on with the Dolphins. After opening the year on the PUP list, Miami cut him loose later on in the season.

It wasn’t until August of this year that Culliver signed on with the Colts. Unfortunately, he was placed on injured reserve soon after.

In 2015, Culliver appeared in six games and recorded 16 tackles and a pass defense for the Redskins. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 110 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.
