The Indianapolis Colts announced that they’ve signed DBย Alden Darby to a contract on Wednesday.
Darby,ย 24, originally signed on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State back in 2014. He lasted just a few months before he was among the Chargers roster cuts at the start of the season.
The Steelers later signed him to a future/reserve contract in January of last year, but he was once again unable to secure a spot on the 53-man roster. Darby signed on to the Saints’ practice squad at the start of the 2015 season and returned to New Orleans on a future/reserve contract.
The Saints waived him with an injury designation and he laterย cleared waivers and reverted to their injury reserve list before being cut loose a fewย weeks ago.
During his four-year college career, Darby recorded 217 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, three recoveries, six interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown and 12 pass defenses.
