Colts Sign DE Cory Redding To A Three-Year Contract

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Colts have signed former Ravens DE Cory Redding to a three-year contract that’s worth $10.5 million.

This is a great move for the Colts as it will allow them to make the transition to Chuck Pagano’s 3-4 hybrid defensive all the more easily. Dwight Freeney has been rumored to be on the trading block and this addition certainly makes it seem like there’s a good chance  that he would be playing elsewhere next year.

  1. Just going out on a limb here BUT i have a strong feeling Freeny is going to get traded to Minnesota for one of their early rd picks (another limb BUT I’m gonna say the #3 pick in the third round), which is a nice trade for both teams AND since Minnesota’s new DC was in Indy last year AND they’re still running a semi Tampa 2, I’d say it fits perfect.  And that front line MIGHT not have the hype of Detroit, BUT Kevin Wiliams, Jarred Allen and Dwight Freeny are some scary names for Stafford, Rodgers, and Cutler to be staying up at nights thinking about.
