Colts Sign RB George Winn & WR Valdez Showers, Cut Two

The Indianapolis Colts announced that they’ve signed RB George Winn and WR Valdez Showers and waived receivers Chris Briggs and Tevaun Smith with injury designations.

Winn, 26, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati back in 2013. He lasted just a few days with Houston before he was cut and later signed by the Patriots.

Since then, Winn has played for the Raiders, Steelers and Cowboys before the Lions signed him to a contract in July of 2014. The Lions brought him back on a one-year exclusive rights deal before cutting him coming out of the preseason last year.

Winn was on and off of the Lions’ practice squad before signing on to the Giants’ taxi squad at the end of October. New York moved on from Win shortly after this year’s draft.

In 2015, Winn was active for seven games and totaled four rushing attempts for just a single yard and no touchdowns.
