Colts Targeting Offensive Tackles In Free Agency?

Jason La Canfora reports that the Colts “will make a run at several free-agent offensive linemen” during free agency and specifically mentions Ryan Clady, Brandon Albert, assuming that they’re not franchised, and Jermon Bushrod as potential targets.

La Canfora adds that the Colts cleared plenty of cap space last year, which should allow them to be aggressive in the coming months and also sees them going after Ravens S Ed Reed, who spent time with Chuck Pagano while in Baltimore.

It’s worth noting that Indianapolis used a first-round pick on Anthony Castonzo a few year’s ago and he actually graded out pretty good according to Pro Football Focus’ 2012 ratings.

Clady is almost certain to be franchised, and I would be surprised to see Albert available, but there should still be a number of quality offensive tackles available for a reasonable price. Bushrod makes a lot of sense for them, but they can let things play out instead of jumping at the chance to sign another tackle of their liking.

We have nine offensive tackles listed in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
