Colts Waive WR Steve Ishmael & TE Billy Brown

According to Adam Schefter, the Colts have waived second-year WR Steve Ishmael

Indianapolis has already confirmed the news and announced the release of TE Billy Brown.

The Colts drafted two wide receivers in the draft this past weekend, which likely squeezed Ishmael out of a roster spot.

Ishmael, 24, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Syracuse in 2018. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract but was cut loose coming out of the preseason.

Since then, Ishmael has been on and off of the Colts’ practice squad. He re-signed with the team on a futures deal for the 2019 season but ended up on injured reserve in training camp.

During his four-year college career at Syracuse, Ishmael caught 219 passes for 2,891 yards receiving and 18 touchdowns over the course of 44 games.
