Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sportsย reports thatย Cortland Finneganย has been in the process of communicating with WRย Vincent Jacksonย ย in the hopes that he’ll join him at his next stop. Cole specifically mentions that Finnegan’s next stop is “looking like Tampa.”
Cole also sees the Bears as another possible landing spot for the two players but that came after someone asked him if he thought Chicago was an option.
We know that the Buccaneers have to sign or draft a cornerback so pursuingย Finnegan makes a lot of sense. Earlier in the week, we mentioned that the Buc’s are considering Alabama RB Trent Richardson with their #5 overall pick which could end up being their selection if they’re able to land Finnegan.
As for Jackson, Tampa Bay could really use a legitimate #1 receiver and you would have to think that adding someone of his caliber ย would be towards the top of their to-do list, especially if he came in a package deal with Finnegan.
The same goes for Chicago. This would be a dream scenario for them, especially when you consider that this will be the first year that they actually have a surplus of cost-efficient draft picks.
One otherย speculative option for the duo could be the Minnesota Vikings.

Chicago Baby~~~ Take your talents to the Windy City…A Defensive Backfield of Tillman and Finnegan, with Conte and Wright…I like the looks of that for a couple of years..And the pairing of Cutler and Jackson with Forte to help would definitely make us a force in the NFC…
GO TO TAMPA!!!!!! omg this right here is a dream deal that i have been talking about, if the bucs get these to there defense and offense just took a huge l;eap forward to being better, and then we can focus on getting richardson or maybe a LB like luke Kuechly in the first round. omg for the love of god tampa don’t let these guys slip bye they will take us to the playoffs, use every single penny you got i have faith in both of these guys. don’t be stupid pick them up
I don’t care if they have character issues, get those guys on the team! (although I’d prefer a Carr-Colston pairing)
