The Dallas Cowboys have officially activated CB Byron Jones from the PUP list on Monday, according to Jon Machota.
Jones, 26, is a former first-round pick out of Connecticut by the Cowboys in the 2015 NFL Draft. He played out the final year of his four-year, $8.601 million rookie contract, but the Cowboys elected to pick up his fifth-year option last year.
Jones now stands to make a base salary of $6.17 million for the 2019 season. Tthe fifth-year option is only guaranteed for injury and won’t prevent the two parties from working on a long-term extension over the next year.
In 2018, Jones appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded 67 tackles, no interceptions and 14 pass defenses.
