The Cowboys announced that they have placed rookie DE DeMarcus Lawrence on injured reserve with the designated to return Tuesday.
- Dallas also re-signed DE Jack Crawford to a contract.
This means that Lawrence will miss first eight games of the 2014 season.
Lawrence unfortunately sustained a broken right foot while working against LT Tyron Smith a month ago. He is expected to miss 8-12 weeks, so this move makes a lot of sense for the Cowboys.
During his two years at Boise State, Lawrence recorded 120 tackles, 34 tackles for a loss, 20 sacks, seven forced fumbles, one interception and a fumble recovery.
