Cowboys Still Looking To Lockup Tony Romo

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones maintains that he is still very confident in QB Tony Romo, despite the fact that he leads the league in interceptions and has the team sitting with a 3-4 record this season.

“We still feel that way,” Jones said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “We’ve got a lot of confidence in Tony. Tony has a lot of confidence in himself. He is going to be fine. He is not the problem.”

Romo, 32, is under contract through the 2013 season, but the team would like him to retire as a Cowboy. Jones has begun preliminary negotiations with Romo’s representation and a new agreement could come before the conclusion of next season.
