Charlie Campbell of Walterfootball.com reports that team sources have mentioned that the Cowboys have been putting “immense effort into scouting the linebacker position.”
This is definitely interesting considering that they have more obvious needs at cornerback and safety in particular.
Months ago there were reports that mentioned that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones would love to have a pair of linebackers similar to the 49ers duo of Patrick Willis and Navoro Bowman. Bradie James and Anothony Spencer will both be free agents in a matter of weeks and despite reports that suggested that Spencer could be a candidate for the franchise tag, the Cowboys figure to be looking for their replacements in this years draft.
