Cowboys Third-Rd OL Connor McGovern Suffers Setback, Could Be Headed To IR

Todd Archer reports that Cowboys third-round OL Connor McGovern suffered a setback in his recovery from a partially torn pectoral muscle and his status for the 2019 season is now in jeopardy.

According to Archer, it’s unclear whether McGovern will need to undergo surgery or if he’ll try to rehab the injury.

However, McGovern is a candidate to be placed on injured reserve in the coming days.

McGovern, 21, was the No. 90 overall pick in the third round by the Cowboys out of Penn State. He agreed to a four-year, $3,402,116 rookie contract including an $882,116 signing bonus with the Cowboys.

During his college career at Penn State, McGovern was a third-team All-Big 10 selection in 2018 and started 35 games over the course of three years.

We’ll have more regarding McGovern as the news is available.
