Curtis Painter Starting Monday Night

Colts head coach Jim Caldwell informed the media that the decision has been made to give Curtis Painter his first NFL start on Monday, per Phillip Wilson of the Indianapolis Star.

Kerry Collins missed Thursday’s practice which has forced the Indianapolis Colts to start preparing Curtis Painter for his first NFL start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Yesterday the Colts re-signed Dan Orlovsky which is another indication that Collins will not be able to play in week 4.

Collins was said to have suffered a concussion but the Colts have yet to confirm whether or not he did. At this point, Indy may want to see what Painter can do rather than running Collins out there for another lackluster performance.
