ESPN.com’s James Walker tweets that QB David Garrard was taking first-team snaps during the Miami Dolphins minicamp Tuesday.
Walker adds that Matt Moore was working with the second-team, while first-round draft pick Ryan Tannehill was No. 3. Normally, this would be a pretty direct indication that the Dolphins are at the very least going to give Garrard a shot at securing the position, but the odds of him starting week one can’t be that good. It’s rare that a team would invest a top-ten pick in a quarterback, only to bench him in favor of a veteran that missed all of last season with a back injury. Moore deserves a shot as well, so it will be interesting to see how the Dolphins handle this in the coming months.
