Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau told his players that intends on returning for his 10th season with the franchise, via NFL.com.
“Let’s just say I really like Pittsburgh and I really like working for the Steelers,” LeBeau said. “Coach Tomlin will tell you if he wants me back or not. It will be up to Mike.”
Pittsburgh currently ranks No. 1 in total defense, which is pretty amazing when you consider how old the unit is and the fact that they were without Troy Polamalu for a good portion of the season. LeBeau is widely considered to be one of the best defensive minds in the game and rightfully so, which makes it very likely that he’ll be back for another season. The only real concern was regarding his age, as he’ll be 76 next year.
