Dolphins Activate Four From COVID-19 List, Place DT Ray Smith On Retired List

The Miami Dolphins announced Saturday that they’ve placed DT Ray Smith on the reserve/retired list and activated DT Raekwon Davis, DT Benito Jones, G Solomon Kindley and WR Kirk Merritt from the reserve/COVID-19 list.

The Dolphins also confirmed that they’ve re-signed WR Ricardo Louis

This leaves G Ereck Flowers as the only player still on the COVID-19 list.

Smith, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Boston College back in April of last year. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Lions.

However, Detroit elected to waive Smith coming out of the preseason. He was briefly signed to the practice squad before joining the 49ers in late December.

Smith returned to San Francisco on a futures contract this past February but he was waived last month and later claimed off of waivers by the Dolphins.

During his four-year college career at Boston College, Smith recorded 137 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception and seven pass defenses over the course of 36 games.
