Dolphins Hiring Bengals DBs Coach Vance Joseph A “Done Deal”

Update:

According to Ian Rapoport, Bengals DBs coach Vance Joseph is a candidate for the Dolphins’ next defensive coordinator job, but it’s not a done deal.

Instead, Rapoport mentions that Joseph will have options to consider.

Alex Marvez of FOX Sports reports that the Dolphins hiring Bengals DBs coach Vance Joseph as their next defensive coordinator is considered a “done deal” and will be official once the Bengals’ season is over.

A source tells Marvez that Joseph will be hiring Bengals’ Matt Burke as LBs coach, Bears’ Clint Hurt as DL coach and Cowboys’ Jerome Henderson as DBs coach.

Numerous reports have said that the Dolphins are likely to hire Joseph to run their defense now that they’ve brought in Adam Gase to be their next head coach.

Joseph was a hot candidate for defensive coordinator positions last year, but the Bengals ultimately elected to prevent him from taking any of the available jobs. However, Joseph’s contract now expires after the season, which means Cincinnati can no longer prevent him from leaving.

We’ll have more regarding the Dolphins’ coaching staff as the news is available.
