Dolphins To Host Veteran LB Lawrence Timmons For Visit

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting that the Dolphins will host veteran free agent ILB Lawrence Timmons for a visit after the 2017 league year if officially under way.

Fowler adds that the Steelers have been talking with Timmons’ reps, but it appears as though he’s poised to test the free agent market, barring a change in his schedule.

Timmons, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Steelers back in 2007. He’s spent all 10 seasons of his career in Pittsburgh and played out the final year of his six-year, $50 million contract.

Timmons is now in a position to test the open market next month as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2016, Timmons appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers and recorded 114 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble, and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 70 inside linebacker out of 87 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
