Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the sources have informed him that the Dolphins are prepared to make “an impact in free agency.”
Salguero cautions that Miami “will be careful not to overvalue players who aren’t truly stars.”
The Dolphins could have as much as $46.8 million in salary-cap space at their disposal in the coming months, so it makes sense that they would consider a number of options on the open market. An upgrade wide receiver seems to make the most sense and Salguero specifically mentions that Greg Jennings and Mike Wallace could be possibilities.
Of course, both players could be back with their respective teams next season, but there are other options available to them. The Dolphins also have a number of key free agents to address, so it’s not as though all of that money will spent on incoming players.
