Dolphins Promote RB LaMichael James To Active Roster

The Miami Dolphins are promoting RB LaMichael James to their active roster on Monday, according to his agent Jeff Sperbeck.

Dolphins HC Joe Philbin announced Monday that they are placing starting LT Branden Albert on season-ending injured reserve, so James will be taking his place on their 53-man roster.

Miami added James to their practice squad a few months ago after he was waived by the 49ers.

James, 24, was taken in the second-round of the 2012 draft, but was unable to carve out a role with the 49ers.

Last year, the 49ers had James active for just 10 games, which had a lot to do with him being slotted as the No. 4 running back on their depth chart. James wound up playing just 28 snaps this season and totaled 59 yards on 12 carries.
