Dolphins Re-Sign WR Andy Jones, Waive LB James Crawford

The Dolphins announced on Monday they have brought back WR Andy Jones and waived LB James Crawford in a corresponding move.

Jones, 26, originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Jacksonville back in 2016. He spent his rookie season on the Cowboys’ practice squad and returned to Dallas on a futures contract the following year.

The Cowboys waived Jones coming out of the preseason and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Texans. He later joined the Lions before eventually being promoted to their active roster in December of 2017.

Jones was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason last year and cut with an injury settlement. He caught on with the Dolphins on the practice squad and came back on a futures deal for the 2020 season before being cut in April.

In 2018, Jones appeared in eight games for the Lions and caught 11 passes for 80 yards and one touchdown.
