Dolphins Reassign Mike Tannenbaum, Promote Chris Grier

The Miami Dolphins announced Monday that they’ve reassigned executive vice president of football operations Mike Tannenbaum and will have GM Chris Grier oversee football operations reporting directly to owner Stephen Ross.

The Dolphins also confirmed that they’ve fired HC Adam Gase.

Tannenbaum, 49, began his NFL career with the Browns as a personnel assistant under Bill Belichick. He later worked for the Saints before the Jets hired him as their director of player contract negotiations in 1997.

The Jets eventually promoted Tannenbaum to GM for the 2006 and he spent seven years in the position before being fired after the 2012 season.

After working for an agency for three years, the Dolphins hired Tannenbaum as their executive VP of football operations in 2015.

The Dolphins are 29-35 (44 percent) since hiring Tannenbaum, which includes one playoff appearance in 2016.
