Dolphins Sign DB Maurice Smith & DT Jamiyus Pittman To PS, Release DT DeShawn Williams

The Miami Dolphins officially signed DT Jamiyus Pittman and DB Maurice Smith to their practice squad on Wednesday and released DT DeShawn Williams from the unit.

Here’s the Dolphins updated practice squad:

Smith, 23, wound up signing on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia back in May of last year. He managed to make the Dolphins’ 53-man roster coming out of the preseason last year, but was among the team’s final roster cuts a few weeks ago.

The Dolphins later signed Smith to their practice squad after he cleared waivers. Since then, he’s been on and off of their Dolphins’ active roster.

In 2018, Smith has appeared in five games for the Dolphins and recorded three tackles and one pass defense.
