Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins are signing DB Eric Rowe to a three-year, $18 million extension with $7 million guaranteed.
Jackson reported last week that the Dolphins were open to signing Rowe to an extension before the start of free agency and it appears as though they were able to hammer out the details of an agreement.
Jackson mentioned that Rowe enjoys being in Miami and the Dolphins likes his ability to cover opposing tight ends.
Rowe, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2015. He was traded to the Patriots for a conditional fourth-round pick in 2016.
Rowe made a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season before signing a one-year contract worth $3.5 million this past March. He was in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
In 2019, Rowe has appeared in 12 games for the Dolphins and recorded 59 tackles, no interceptions and seven pass defenses.
