Dolphins Waive/Injured WR Isaiah Ford, Cut WR Francis Owusu From I.R.

The Miami Dolphins officially waived WR Isaiah Ford with an injury designation and waived WR Francis Owusu from injured reserve with a settlement.

Should Ford pass through waivers unclaimed, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list on Saturday.

Ford, unfortunately, underwent knee surgery a few weeks ago and the possibility of him ending up on injured reserve was raised.

Ford, 21, was selected with the No. 237 overall pick of the seventh round by the Dolphins a few months ago. He signed a four-year, $2.47 million contract that included a $78,213 signing bonus with the Dolphins and stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the agreement.

During his college career at Virginia Tech, Ford caught 210 passes for 2,967 yards receiving (14.1 YPR) to go along with 24 touchdowns over the course of 39 games.
