Dolphins Worked Out Four Free Agents

According to Howard Balzer, the Miami Dolphins brought in four free agents for workouts this week including DE Kendall Reyes.

The full list of tryouts for the Dolphins includes:

  1. DE Ziggy Hood
  2. DE Kendall Reyes
  3. DT Joey Mbu
  4. DT Sylvester Williams

Of this group, Hood and Williams were signed to the Dolphins active roster.

Reyes, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the Chargers before signing a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Redskins back in 2016.

Unfortunately, the Redskins elected to cut him loose during the season and he wound up finishing out the year with the Chiefs. The Jets signed him to a contract during the preseason, but he was cut loose as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

In 2016, Reyes appeared in 12 games and recorded 20 tackles, one sack and a pass defense.

Williams, 29, was taken with the No. 28 overall pick back in 2013. He played out the final year of his rookie contract but the Broncos elected to not pick up his fifth-year option, which allowed him to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

The Titans signed Williams to a three-year, $16.5 million contract that included $7.25 million guaranteed last year before releasing him in a move that freed up $3,083,332 of available cap space this offseason.

Williams later signed a one-year contract with the Lions but was released to make room for Damon Harrison.

He worked out for the Saints last week but left New Orleans without a contract.

In 2018, Williams has appeared in six games for the Lions and recorded six tackles and no sacks.
