Josina Anderson of ESPN reports that the Dolphins informed WR Jarvis Landry this morning that they will not be trading him before today’s deadline.

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry is available for the right compensation, but the team isn’t giving him away.

This contrast with a report from Ian Rapoport, who mentioned that Dolphins HC Adam Gase is not trading Landry.

At this point, it’s hard to rule anything out, especially after the Dolphins traded away starting running back Jay Ajayi this morning without an obvious replacement in place.

Landry’s name has come up the past few weeks in trade rumors, given that he’s currently in the final year of his contract and the Dolphins do have other options at receiver. However, Landry is still one of their best offensive players, so it would be tough to move him in season.

Landry, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2014. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $3.5 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $893,852 for the 2017 season.

In 2017, Landry appeared in all 16 games for the Dolphins and caught 50 passes for 1,136 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 21 receiver out of 109 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 25 – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.

We’ll have more regarding a possible Landry trade as the news is available.
