Eagles Cut Two From Practice Squad Including CB JaCorey Shepherd, Sign Two Guards

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Friday that they’ve signed guards Matt Rotheram and Darrell Greene to their practice squad and waived CB JaCorey Shepherd and LB Don Cherry from the unit.

The Eagles ’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. RB Byron Marshall
  2. DT Aziz Shittu
  3. WR David Watford
  4. Darrell Greene
  5. FB Andrew Bonnet
  6. WR Paul Turner
  7. C Aaron Neary
  8. CB C.J. Smith
  9. QB Aaron Murray
  10. Matt Rotheram

Rotheram, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Pittsburgh last year, but was later signed to the team’s practice squad at the start of the regular season. The Packers elected to bring Rotheram back on a future/reserve contract this past January.

However, the Packers elected to cut Rotheram loose towards the end of the preseason.

Rotheram has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Shepherd, 23, was taken in the sixth-round of last year’s NFL draft by the Eagles. He signed a four-year, $2,401,112 contract with Philadelphia and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 when he was cut loose coming out of the preseason.

Last year, Shepherd, unfortunately, sustained a torn right ACL and subsequently missed the entire 2015 season.

The Eagles have signed and cut Shepherd multiple times in recent weeks.
