NFL insider Adam Schefter reports that the Eagles are interviewing Giants LB coach Jim Herrmann for their vacant defensive-coordinator position.
Per a league source, Schefter confirms that the Eagles have turned their attention to Herrmann to run their defense after recently signing former Oregon head coach Chip Kelly to run the team. Initially reports had Georgia’s Todd Grantham as the early favorite for their defensive coordinator position.
Herrmann is coming out of his fourth year as the Giants LB coach after having spent three years with the Jets in the same position.
If Herrmann does in fact end up with the job, he would be making his debut as defensive coordinator in the NFL and replacing Todd Bowles, who is expected to join the Cardinals after recently being released by the team.
