Eagles Promote QB Nate Sudfeld To Active Roster, Waive DT Justin Hamilton

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Wednesday that they’ve promoted QB Nate Sudfeld to their active roster and waived DT Justin Hamilton.

Sudfeld’s agent first announced that Sudfeld was being promoted.

According to Adam Caplan, it was the Colts that tried to sign Sudfeld off of the Eagles’ practice squad.

Sudfeld, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2016. He signed a four-year, $2.47 million contract with Washington and was set to make a base salary of $540,000 for the 2017 season when Washington cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

Sudfeld elected to leave the Redskins and sign on to the Eagles’ practice squad at the start of the season.

During his college career, Sudfeld threw for 7,879 yards while completing 60.3 percent of his passes to go along with 61 touchdowns and 20 interceptions over the course of four seasons.
