Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Eagles are signing QB Cody Kessler to a contract on Monday.
Kessler joins an Eagles’ quarterbacks room that currently consists of Carson Wentz, Nate Sudfeld, rookie Clayton Thorson and Luis Perez.
Kessler, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Browns back in 2016. The Browns traded Kessler to the Jaguars last year for a 2019 seventh-round pick.
Kessler was in the final year of his four-year, $3.3 million contract and set to make base salaries of $912,147 for the 2019 season when the Jaguars waived him last week.
In 2018, Kessler appeared in five games for the Jaguars and completed 64.9 percent of his passes for 709 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for 123.
