Eagles Sign WR Arrelious Benn To A One-Year Extension

The Eagles announced that they signed WR Arrelious Benn to a one-year contract extension that will keep him in Philadelphia through the 2014 season.

Philadelphia sent a 2013 sixth-round pick and a conditional 2014 selection to the Buccaneers for Benn and a seventh-round pick.

Benn will most likely have to compete for a starting job next season, despite the new contract extension. He’s dealt with a number of injuries in his two years in the NFL and hasn’t lived up to his draft status when healthy.

It will be interesting to see if Chip Kelly is able to get him turned around and contributing at a higher level next season.
