Butler, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2019. He signed a four-year rookie deal worth $3.3 million with Arizona. However, Butler was placed on injured reserve last year before being waived coming out of training camp.
The Panthers signed him to their practice squad last month and was claimed off the taxi squad by the Eagles a couple of weeks later.
During his college career at Iowa State, Butler caught 110 passes for 2,149 yards receiving and 18 touchdowns over the course of 34 games and three seasons.
