Eagles Won’t Tender DB Jaylen Watkins Restricted Offer

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Eagles do not plan to tender DB Jaylen Watkins a restricted offer, which means he’ll be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Rapoport says that if the Eagles would have tendered Watkins an offer, it would have been an original round tender.

This doesn’t rule out Watkins returning to the Eagles, but he’ll at least get the opportunity to meet with other teams.

Watkins, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2014. He was waived at the start of the 2015 season and had a brief stint on the Bills’ practice squad before returning to the Eagles toward the end of the 2015 season.

Last year, the Eagles signed Watkins to a one-year exclusive rights deal.

In 2017, Watkins appeared in 12 games for the Eagles and recorded 17 tackles and no interceptions.
