Ed Reed Hopes To Play Another Season & Re-Sign With The Jets

Veteran S Ed Reed told reporters Monday that although retirement remains a possibility, he would like to play another season and return to the Jets, per Rich Cimini.

Reed, 35, will be an unrestricted free agent in the coming months, but it’s hard to say if the Jets or any NFL team will be interested in signing him now that he is clearly on the downswing of his career.

According to Reed, he will have an MRI on his surgically repaired hip, but just referred to it as “maintenance.”

Reed previously mentioned that he was hoping to play another two years, so this could be an indication that he has a better idea of what his free agent market will be. Reed did finish the season interceptions in both of the Jets final two games.
